PROSECUTOR AUTHORIZES ADULT CHARGES AGAINST STUDENT FOR VICIOUS ATTACK
Mount Clemens, Michigan — Today, Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido authorized charges against an Eastpointe High School student for the vicious and senseless knife attack on a fellow student.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office authorized an adult warrant charging one count of Assault with Intent to Murder. While the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty, this charge today should be a warning to all Macomb County students that violent acts of this nature, be it against a fellow student or staff member, will never be tolerated and will be met with prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
The accused was arraigned this afternoon in front of Judge Galen, 38th District Court in Eastpointe. Bond was set at $500,000 cash, surety, with the condition of a GPS tether if bond is posted and the accused is released.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido reminds the public that the accused is innocent until proven guilty.
