Peter J. Lucido To Be Sworn In As Macomb County Prosecutor
“After making the law in the legislature as a Representative and State Senator, I’m thrilled to come back home to Macomb to enforce those laws and protect the citizens of this great county. Despite these uncertain times, 2021 is a new year and a new beginning for all of us.” Prosecuting Attorney Elect Peter J. Lucido stated in announcing the proceedings that will begin promptly at 7:30 am on January 4, 2021, on the 1st floor of the Administration Building, 1 South Main, Mt Clemens, Michigan. Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano, Chief Judge of the 16th Circuit Court, James Biernat, Jr., and Chief Judge of the 4 lB District Court, Sebastian Lucido will administer the oath.
Following the ceremony, Prosecutor Lucido will immediately swear in his staff of Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys before they make their first remote court appearances of the new year. Prosecutor Elect Lucido added, “I have been looking forward to next week when I fulfill my constitutional duty by swearing in my staff of Assistant Prosecutors.” Over the next several weeks, Lucido plans on meeting individually with each member of his staff as part of the office transition.
Due to COVID-19 protocols, only those being sworn in and a minimal media presence will be permitted to attend. Social distancing rules will be strictly enforced and masks are required for those in attendance.
State Senator Peter J. Lucido was elected as Macomb County Prosecutor on November 3, 2020. The office currently consists of 58 attorneys and 57 support personnel.
