Prosecutor Seeks Students Interested In Fall and Winter Internship Program
Mount Clemens, Michigan — Bringing a robust internship program to the Prosecutor’s Office was one of the top priorities of Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
Prosecutor Lucido and staff established an intern program geared toward providing a real-world law office experience for both undergraduate and law students. Reaching out directly to colleges, universities and law schools, as well as posting on the office website and social media platforms, Prosecutor Lucido sought highly qualified students to spend their summer months interning in the Prosecutor's Office.
Over the past month, approximately 30 interns completed the pilot summer internship program. Days in the office included:
- Law student interns have written motions, researched issues, and served as second chairs to Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys;
- Undergraduate interns have learned database and file management, assisted in creating publications for the office, produced web-based applications, and helped with outreach projects.
The Prosecutor’s Office is now looking for highly qualified undergraduate and law students interested in a fall or winter internship with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. Most internships run 8-12 weeks, with interns working approximately 10-20 hours a week. Interns may also earn credit for their efforts.
