Macomb County Prosecutor Authorizes Murder Charges in Fatal Crash
Mount Clemens, Michigan - Today, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido, authorized charges against a 17-year-old male from Detroit for the murder of a young woman last week in a fatal multi-car accident.

- Homicide – Felony Murder – a felony charge, punishable by life without parole;
- Homicide – Murder – Second Degree, a felony, punishable by up to life in prison;
- Police Officer – Fleeing – First Degree – Vehicle Code, a fifteen-year felony; and,
- Police Officer – Fleeing – Second Degree – Vehicle Code, a ten-year felony.
Police and prosecutors allege that the defendant was traveling at a high rate of speed, in a stolen vehicle, on southbound Van Dyke before causing a fatal, three car cash at the intersection of Van Dyke and 15 Mile Road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our County is grieving the tragic death of a young woman,” stated Prosecutor Lucido. “This blatant disregard for the lives of other must stop. These individuals who threaten our communities will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The defendant was arraigned this afternoon by Judge Kimberley Wiegand in Sterling Heights District Court. Bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety only.
It is important to note that the multi-jurisdictional investigation of the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident is still open as others involved have not yet been apprehended.
