Who can get vaccinated?

The COVID-19 vaccine is currently available to anyone age 5 and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Booster Dose Eligibility
All persons aged 12 years and older should receive a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine.  Currently, CDC does not recommend a booster dose for children aged 5–11 years.

Pfizer-BioNTech recipients age 12 and older should get a booster at least 5 months after their primary series. Only the Pizer-BioNTech booster can be used for eligible individuals age 12-17. Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna (mRNA COVID-19 vaccines) are preferred in most* situations.

Moderna recipients age 18 and older should get a booster at least 5 months after their primary series. Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna (mRNA COVID-19 vaccines) are preferred in most* situations.

Johnson & Johnson recipients age 18 and older should get a Pfizer or Moderna booster at least 2 months after their initial shot.

*Although mRNA vaccines are preferred, J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine may be considered in some situations.

Additional Dose Eligibility
People with moderately to severely compromised immune systems are especially vulnerable to COVID-19, and may not build the same level of immunity to 2-dose vaccine series compared to people who are not immunocompromised.

People age 5 and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised should get an additional primary shot of Pfizer-BioNTech COIVD-19 vaccine 28 days after their 2nd shot.

People age 18 and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised should get an additional primary shot of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech COIVD-19 vaccine 28 days after their 2nd shot.

No additional primary shot is recommended at this time for individuals who have received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine as their primary series.
